User Modeling, Paper Prototyping, and Incremental Release Planning at OOPSLA 2007

10/21/2007 – 10/25/2007

Montreal, Canada

OOPSLA 2007

I've added a new tutorial on user modeling. In it I'll discuss actors, user roles, user profiles and personas, what the differences are between these popular user modeling approaches, and where each is strongest. You'll get a little practice by building simple user models.

I'll also teach paper prototyping an lightweight usability testing in Use Case to User Interface.

Finally, Incremental Releases Users and Stakeholders Will Love ties things together. In agile development generating business value is a key tenet. Business value isn't simply generated by delivery, but by actual use of the software being delivered. In this tutorial I'll focus on planning releases that optimize them to be effectively used by their target audience while staying as small as possible to maximize return on investment.
